The City of Dayton‘s Department of Recreation & Youth Services will hold Winter Intersession Day Camp Programs for youth five to twelve years of age during the Holiday break from Dayton area schools. The intersession camp will run from Wednesday, December 26 – Friday, January 4, 2007 at Lohrey and Northwest Community Centers, 2366 Glenarm Ave. and 1600 Princeton Drive, respectively. Due to the New Year’s holiday, there will not be a program on January 1, 2007. The Intersession Program is open from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The cost is $70 per child for the seven-day camp. Pre-registration is required.
The theme for the day camp is “Ice Cold.” All activities are centered on ice and winter. Participants will learn to play hockey, make their own “ice” jewelry and spend a day ice skating! Swimming will be offered based on the schedule at each facility.
The City’s Department of Recreation and Youth Services is offering the program as a means of providing constructive activities for youth while they are out of school and to assist working parents who may have difficulty locating short-term day care. Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be provided daily. For more information and to register, contact Northwest’s staff at 937-333-3322 or Lohrey’s staff at 937-333-3131.
